Ingredients

Slow Roasted Wagyu Prime Rib with Horseradish Sauce

6 pounds whole Imperial American Wagyu Ribeye

Ribeye Seasoning

½ pound Kosher salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon granulated garlic
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon granulated onion

Horseradish Sauce:

1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
¾ cups drained prepared horseradish
2 teaspoons Tabasco
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. For the Ribeye seasoning, mix all ingredients in bowl. You can store extra until needed again.
  2. For the horseradish sauce, mix all ingredients in mixing bowl and store in cooler until ready to serve. This is best when made a few hours before to allow horseradish and seasonings to sit.
  3. Preheat oven to 425F degrees.
  4. Rub Ribeye generously with seasoning to coat all sides.
  5. Place on baking pan with a lip on it to catch any grease that comes from cooking.
  6. Place in 425F oven and allow to cook for 20 minutes to form crust on outside.
  7. Drop oven temperature down to 275F and finish cooking Ribeye until meat thermometer reads 125F degrees, approximately 2-2 ½ hours.
  8. Remove prime rib from oven at 125F and allow to rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing, this will allow it to carry over cook to around 145F which is a good medium inside.
  9. Slice to desired thickness and serve with sides of choice and horseradish sauce.
